National Adoption Day To Be Celebrated on November 18, 2011, in the Clear Creek County District Court

(Evergreen, CO) November 10, 2011— The Clear Creek County District Court in Georgetown, Colorado will be hosting their National Adoption Day celebration on November 18, 2011.  This Court hears approximately 55 adoptions per year which is the most in the 5th Judicial District. The Honorable Russell H. Granger will be presiding over numerous adoption hearings set that day. Local Evergreen adoption attorney, Seth Grob, will be handling three adoption cases set before Judge Granger and has gained permission from all parties to have these hearings open to the media (subject to the accompanying court guidelines). The hearings will begin at 2:00 p.m.  These adoptions include both traditional and nontraditional couples. Come and share in the celebration of the creation of new families.

National Adoption Day is a national day of celebration of adoptive families and an opportunity for courts to open their doors and finalize the adoptions of children.  Families, adoption advocates, policymakers, judges and volunteers will come together and celebrate adoption in communities all across the nation.

Adoption is truly a wonderful outcome for all involved, including the children, the adoptive parents, and the birth parents.  It provides children with permanent, nurturing, and stable homes that they otherwise likely would not experience,” said attorney, Seth Grob.

November is National Adoption Month as set forth in a proclamation issued by President Obama on November 1, 2011.  Many community organizations host programs, events and activities throughout the month to highlight the positive benefits of adoption and the need for more adoptive homes. The 2011 theme focuses on those children in foster care who need forever homes. According to the latest data from the Children’s Bureau of the Administration for Children and Families there are 107,000 children in foster care available for adoption in the United States.  In Colorado, there are approximately 300 foster children waiting for adoption.
